Hi, I recently set up TB with one imap account. All fine. I set up a Local Folder as well - mainly to store bulk of old mails.

Then after couple of days, when I sent a message, the system warned me: "your message was sent, but a copy could not be placed in "Sent" folder" due to network or file access issues. Place a copy in local folder instead?"

I recognized, that also, while my account/server seems to connect, no emails at all are fetched from the server actually.

I think there's a strange problem TB internally with ... file access? How to repair?

UPDATE : I checked my TB profile folder, and found the "ImapMail" folder's properties (Win10) showed "read-only". So I closed TB, removed the "read-only" from folder and contents, and restarted TB. But issue persisted. I went back to "ImapMail" folder in my profile - and found it marked "read-only" again. So seems TB itself set it to "read-only", it seems.

I recently switched to Thunderbird from MS Office10 Outlook. Formerly, once I downloaded an email it was stored on my hard drive until I erased it. I could delete the email from the Earthlink account online, and still have it stored, thus staying under the 100mb storage limit in Earthlink. With Thunderbird, when I delete an email on line it disappears from Thunderbird.

How do I get Thunderbird to save my emails to my hard drive, so that I can delete them from my Earthlink account?

I can't keep my daily tabs open on Firefox. Every day, I have to put them back up manually. What's going on? I was using Waterfox and it seems to be hacked, now Firefox is not reliable either.

Over the past 3-4 weeks, everytime Windows pushes an update, it switches my default browser (Firefox) to Microsoft Edge.

I have spoken, at length, with Microsoft about why this is happening and how to prevent it. Ultimately, their final response is that Microsoft is going to switch my default browser to Edge with every update.

First, I´d like help to find a way to block this from happening without having to just stop all Windows updates.

Second, Years ago, Microsoft lost a lawsuit because of the monopoly when they forced everyone to use their Internet Explorer, but now, it seems that they´ve just decided to ignore that ruling. Can anyone tell me which EU organization I should file a complaint with?

Hi, I’m having trouble keeping my bookmarks in sync between my Windows laptop and Android phone using Firefox Sync.

I’m logged into the same Firefox account on both devices, and Sync is turned on. However, new bookmarks I add on one device don’t appear on the other.

I’ve already tried:

Signing out and back into my Firefox Account

Forcing a manual sync

Checking that both devices have the latest Firefox version

Is there a way to manually trigger a full re-sync or reset the Sync database without losing data? Thanks in advance! 🙏

I use the same e-mail address on my desktop and my Samsung android phone. I was told to change my desktop e-mail from POP3 to IMAP which I did and then told by the Thunderbird desktop forum to change also my phone settings from POP3 to IMAP. I was told in order to do that I needed to create a new account first and then delete the old account.

However, when I go into server settings and I put in my e-mail address from my desktop, it states "e-mail address already in use". Clearly I do not want to create a new e-mail address - just use the same e-mail address that is on my desktop so that I can access e-mails on my phone that appear on my desktop. Help please!

I have noticed that quite often web sites are not opening the first time and FF reports broken connection. Refreshing or trying the second time helps - sites open very quickly.

What may be the problem?

I am using the most recent version on Windows 11 24H2. This behavior appeared about a week ago. I have reinstalled FF but it didn't improve anything.

It won't let me connect to websites due to "Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue" However, I am certain that it's a mistake, because the websites that I'm unable to connect to are https://web.whatsapp.com/ https://www.instagram.com/ and other trusted websites. For youtube it shows that I'm offline, although I'm connected to the internet. This problem may be due to recent issues related to my internet provider and/or router, because I also have issues with discord app as well as some game clients(Jagex, Blizzard, for example).

hi in a new win 10 instal most text incl Fire Fox text is made up of letters [font] that are made of thin and thick lines [in the same letter]

i dont know if its a strange font or another problem, i have copied all "font" setting from my other pc where i dont have the problem.

also i cant get spell check to work here dsespite turning it on

I have been a long time user of FF and have been puzzled by it's recent failure (to both start, and subsequently re-install) For the last 18 months I have been running Win 12 without problems. That is until last week, when I can only assume the Tuesday udates ( MS) has created havoc. I would appreciate any assistance as I am not fond of MS Edge, or Google Chrome. Dave Hickman.

Yesterday I upgraded my PC from Windows 10 to 11. Today I discovered my Local Folders are not visible. Searching tells me the messages still exist, but TB does not show the folders. I did the same upgrade a month ago on a laptop (Windows 10 Pro to 11), no problems. I didn't externally back up the messages as I am a dinosaur and don't know how, but at least they are still on the hard drive. Thousands of them though so I need the local folders back. Tried all the fixes I can find on the Community Forum, without success. Can anyone help please? Bob

After a re-start, my Firefox browser on a Dell laptop lost all history and has since also not been collecting websites visited. When opening a new tab, the shortcuts and recently visited websites are also gone and no longer being collected. My CCleaner recently updated itself to a new version but I unchecked the delete history for Firefox (which treacherously is clicked by default - I fell into that trap before). Happy to blame the new CCleaner but that would not explain why history is not being collected now - to me the fault seems to lie with Firefox instead. Another possibility that went through my mind: Is Microsoft sabotaging users of Windows 11 to force them to buy new? PS: Under "Privacy", "History", the setting is "Firefox will remember history", as it always has been and should be. But it has forgotten all previous history and it is no longer collecting any new history either!

Dear Firefox Team,

It has re-occurred to my Firefox Browser of the latest version of 115.28 with some websites which I have recently visited however which have appeared 8 grids of blank or white pages again under "Recent Activity" as attached with the image for your technical troubleshooting suggestion.

Those 8 grids of Recent Activity in the older version of Firefox browsers used to have shown colorful graphics or images representative of the recent websites I visited in the recent past.

May I know what I am supposed to do to recover those graphics or images?

Kindly offer any suggestion or solution?

I would like help removing one of the folders called drafts as it is empty and uses the other for subfolders. I have tried right clicking but it has no effect on removing it. Only the draft folder where the subfolders are located can be removed. How do I remove the extra draft folder. Thanks in advance for your help.

Every time I restart my Firefox browsers they will sign me out of my Mozilla account. I can see the email address associated with my account and 'Account disconnected'. I have to go through the process again every time I use it. I am using default privacy & security settings.

I am using :

I'm in the process of cleaning up Thunderbird e-mail before moving to a new computer. I started with 11,593 e-mails in my Inbox and 7,799 e-mails in my Sent folder. I'm now down to 7,634 in my Inbox and 4,965 in my Sent folder. I've allocated 2 weeks for this process and found that it's taking me about 3 hours per day to meet my daily goals. I'm finding that I'm spending at LEAST half the time responding to "Empty-Trash/Compact-folders" requests. There are times I can delete 50 e-mails at a time without getting a request. Other times I will try to delete ten e-mails and get the request. With the old version of Thunderbird I could literally delete hundreds of e-mails at a time. Can you help? Russ Bukwa Yardley, PA ps. I have just completed migrating my files and settings from my (not so) old windows 10 desktop computer to my windows 11 laptop. Everything seems to have gone ok, except that the Firefox bookmarks were installed and only work in the private browsing window. When I start Firefox normally, the window that opens does not have the bookmarks, and even if I enter a web address manually in this window, it will not connect. I can choose "New window" in the drop down menu and that window will have the bookmarks, but still will not connect. The only way to get the bookmarks and also be able to connect to the internet is to choose "New private window" from the drop down menu. The problem with that is that there have been occasions when I have had a need to examine my browsing history, which I can't do since Firefox doesn't save the history when in private window mode. I have tried the procedure to sync bookmarks, history, etc., but the procedure is somewhat confusing and didn't work for me. Can you simplify the procedure for me? Thanks, John Blakley
