Firefox stops loading pages after not using for a couple minutes. Then nothing on my laptop will open.

Every time I don't use firefox for more than about 60 seconds (it's still on, I'm just not loading anything new), it stops loading any new pages I try and open. Then I can't open anything on my computer. I've tried clearing cache/history/cookies. I downloaded the newest version of firefox. I did a system restore on my laptop. Nothing has solved the problem and this is getting very frustrating.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
