I have a desktop and a laptop both running Windows 7 and the latest version of Firefox. On the desktop Firefox automatically logs in to my home page. On the laptop I have to manually log it in. On the laptop when I open Gmail, Firefox automatically logs me in. On the desktop it won't even give me a list of my Google accounts to pick which one I want to log into unless I try to login without an account name. Then it will give me a list of my accounts to pick from.

I want to get both computers to automatically log me into my home page like the desktop does and when I open Gmail, to automatically log me in like the laptop does. How can I accomplish this?

While the Password Manager does fill in the user/password information, it does not automatically log you in. You still have to press the LogIn button.

However, if you do not log out of a website, you do not have to log back in when you return to that site.

I think what is happening is, one PC is logging out, the other does not.

Login information is stored in special cookies. If those cookies are removed, it is the same as logging out of the site.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar.
