Windows 7 x32 Firefox 10.02 The program constantly crashes when I press Browse button (such as gmail attachments, virustotal programs and so on. ) PS I already cleared registry problems and tried to remove MRU from registry, as was mentioned in this topic: https://support.mozilla.org/ru/questions/754368#answer-105628

Chosen solution

No doubt cor-el will come up with suggestions. I will list the crash report details incase they help anyone. The crash occurs when a Windows related component is in use. Have you ensured you have no unnecessary background tasks running, and that no Firefox plugins are running.

No reason to expect it to be directly related, but a previous crash with the same signature occurred when bookmarks were used, and the reported solution in that instance was:

I found out that an option in Microsoft File Explorer caused the crash.
To solve this:
- Go to "Organize"
- Choose "Folder and search options"
- uncheck "Automatically expand to current folder"
 Now Firefox won't crash again!

Your reports for CrashID s all have the same signature

Well done for looking at other questions before posting.

One thing we should try to decide is are you experiencing hangs or crashes ?

Have you also seen

You can also try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

I made a new profile, deleted mimetipes.rdf nothing work for me. Somebody have ideas to solve such a problem? Thank you. PS Sometimes Firefox hangs but most of the time it crashes.

If you are getting crashes please

  2. use about:crashes as explained in that article, to find the submitted CrashID s
  3. post two or three of the recent Crash ID s in your next message (by copying and pasting them. )
