i am using http://www.google.ro/firefox as Home Link, my Browser IS up to date but i still get the message "You don't have the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade now to see the Internet to its maximum capacity!" under the firefox search box .
Please send me a message once the problem is solved with "http://www.google.ro/firefox" link.
I think it should be able to check my browser version. it doesn't. instead it says my browser is not up to date

you have the latest version. Your user agent = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0.1
see here:

as cor-el said you can use another page as the home page, www.google.com or www.google.com/ig (iGoogle) or www.google.ro
thank you

i was hoping for a solution to keep that link as "home" since i got used to it :) And to be honest, the design looks nice.
So.. No chance to get a fix for that ?
check the link below
i understand. google doesn't use that link anymore. i will consider your answer a fix then. :\
