Firefox won't let me logon to a network.

I attend a medical facility that has wireless internet. The network itself is unsecured so my wireless card picks it right up and connects, but after opening a browser it takes you to a website that you then login to using info provided by the facility and then you're good to go. This worked fine in IE (and still does). Firefox does not bring up the login page and eventually times out. I'm guessing it's some security setting? Firefox is my default browser. I can open IE and login that way and then browse on either browser. This isn't the only network that I use, I connect at home through my secured home network without issue. So I'm curious what I need to do to fix it to where I don't need to use IE to login and without affecting my ability to connect to my home network. Thanks.
