That is a message from the "Decoder Doctor' that is displayed as a notification bar if there is no suitable codec found to play the media file.
- decoder.noCodecs.message = To play video, you may need to install Microsoft’s Media Feature Pack.
Does the Web Console (or Browser Console) show more detail about what codec is missing?
I see see this pref present on the about:config page to switch verbose mode on/off.
- media.decoder-doctor.verbose
The messages that are allows are specified via this pref:
- media.decoder-doctor.notifications-allowed
I think that you can set this pref to an empty value (right-click and clear the current String value) to suppress the notifications.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

This isn't a FF problem but whatever site your visiting or codec you installed.
this aint a problem i just need a way to turn off this announcement whatever site im visiting or codec i installed. the sites im visiting and codecs i installed suit my requirements exept one little thing FF showing this announcement and i see no way to disable it thats why the question is here
I'm not familiar with that message. Are you seeing it on more than one site? Could you provide the URLs of pages where you are seeing the message?
If you see this on a web page then be very suspicious since this is a common way to get infected with malware.
yes this IS because of media software being not properly installed this shown on ANY website which contain multi media an answer required is any sequence of actions that need to be executed to stop firefox browser showing this announcement while loading any website with multimedia just that easy. yes I know that my media software is not properly installed you dont have to inform me each time you get it please dont bother yourself telling me again firefox
Would you mind sending us a screenshot of what you're seeing? For instructions, see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?.
