Help. Ok, I'm so confused. I didn't know there was such a thing as Lockwise. I didn't realize that I was setting it up or what. But I just tried to go into my passwords to find a password that I just set up for a new website that I just found, and now my passwords are making me put in a password just to see my saved passwords. What?? I tried putting all of my regular passwords in it and nothing is working. I can't get in to see my stored passwords now. I even disconnected Sync from Firefox and it's still doing it. Can anyone help me please?

You don't have to type in a user name. You can avoid typing in your computer password by setting up a master password. options > privacy and security > logins and passwords > tick "use a master password" and follow the instructions. I'm sorry but you can't access to your passwords without any password - this is for security.

Same happened to me this morning. Took me some time to figure it out. When you login into to your computer 1st thing do you have a password for that? If yes then that is the password you have to use along with your email address which is your "user name". This is all the info you used to originally login into Firefox.

But with the new Firefox 76.0.1 can you completely remove the new password they added to keep us out of our own passwords unless we type in a user name and password to get see them?

No, you don't have to change any password into your master password. You only have to set up a master password (see screenshot). With this master password you have access to all your other passwords. This is a layer of security so only you can access to your pw's.

Like Butterflysquaw I was shocked, though not confused, to discover that Lockwise had saved one of my passwords WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE and WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING ABOUT LOCKWISE. WORSE STILL, I stumbled across this fact without even having to enter ANY password. I.e. I just followed a series of steps and suddenly, there in front of me was one of my passwords on open display!. How can this happen? Surely there is a BUG? What were Mozilla FIREFOX thinking to make Lockwise a DEFAULT. MF have destroyed my confidence in their ethics, policies and controls at a stroke.
