I now need to click on Inspector within web developer twice before it brings up the page I am working on
When I am on a page and need to check an element I want to be able to go into web developer/inspector and access the information on that page immediately. I believe that used to happen.
However recently each time I use web developer/inspector on the first opening all I get is information about body and html. I then have to close that and reopen inspector to get it to go to the page I am working on.
Does anyone know what has changed and/or what I can do to have immediate access to the current page. Having to take this 2 step process every time is getting very annoying and time-consuming.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
Thanks but once in safe mode how do I test it? I now can't access web developer as far as I can see.
You should still have the Inspect Element item in the right-click context menu in Safe Mode.
Did you look in the Tools menu to see if the Web Developer tools can be found there?
- Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the menu bar is hidden.
Ah thanks. Found Tools.
Looks like it works fine in safe mode!
Have to go out now but will look at the other links you have sent me later to see what I can do about this.
Ah but when I am logged into wordpress the problem comes back. Maybe I was looking for the cause in the wrong place.
Any ideas on why wordpress might be causing the problem?
