On upgrading to FF8, my keywords were deleted. How to get back?

When I upgraded from FF 3.6 to 8.0, all my keywords were deleted, although the bookmarks and bookmark toolbar were properly converted. I am using XP-SP3. If I go to the bookmark and click properties, I can add back the keyword. But I had perhaps a hundred keywords, and don't remember them all. I have backup copies of old bookmarks, but if I import them, I will have all duplicates. I use FEBE, but XMarks was not enabled.
