Can no longer log in to yahoo

All of the sudden Thuderbird is failing to log into yahoo. I get this message.

Login to server imap.mail.yahoo.com with username (email address)

I made no changes on either side, to Thunderbird or to Yahoo, except to change my password. The solutions I've run across on the web are either irrelevant or do not work. Can anybody shed any light on this issue?

If you change your password in either Yahoo online or in Thunderbird you must set the same password at the other end! Thunderbird uses your password to connect and access your account, Yahoo will reject any password that does not match. So the answer is to correct one or the other so both are the same.
