Hi all,

Is that a way to automatically upgrade Firefox without starting it? I've got GPOs in place to autoupdate it (set "application autoupdate" to 'enabled' and "disable update" to 'disabled'), but still not being able to upgrade if not using it.

I've got several users with other browsers and if they not use Firefox, it seems that the version is not upgrading and could be a lack of security.

What I am missing?

Thanks for your reply.

No; I'm guessing that it's 3-6 months at least.

Hi,

we are working on it. The Update Agent is being planned as a background process which will remain running after the browser is closed to download and apply updates. This should make updating more convenient for everyone and reduce the time to get new updates for users who aren't well supported by the current update process because they don't run Firefox very much and/or they have slow Internet connections. It's being tested on Windows/Nightly right now.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your help and reply. Do you know when this new feature will be available in the main release and version of the browser?

Thanks!
