Moments ago I upgraded to the latest Firefox version. It now requires a login, and during the installation it asks me for my mobile telephone number. But the number I type is said to be invalid, perhaps because I am currently in Germany and use a Dutch mobile telephone number. The field presented to me shows "+49", the German country code. I replace that with +31 and the rest of my number, but that is not allowed. The software should accept that users may updgrade firefox abroad.

No desktop Firefox download or internal update from Mozilla.org requires a phone number or a login in order to use it.

You may get asked if you would like to create a Firefox account to sync with Firefox on say a phone however a phone# is not required. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/access-mozilla-services-firefox-account

I may not need it, but I want to use my smartphone. Then it would be helpful if my actual mobile number is accepted, even if I am abroad. I understand that not all countries are perhaps supported, but The Netherlands and Germany are, I guess.
