Visual Glitch, possibly due to multiple monitors
Thunderbird isn't maximizing the app properly. This is happening on two different machines. My machine is running Windows 7 64 bit SP1. You will see from the screenshot that the filter and message buttons are cropped and emails are cropped. If I double click a message to open it fully in a tab, it works correctly.

Scratch this all. I found the culprit. It was the FoxClocks addon, which I'm sad to lose.
