My email account is handled by a university that uses Office 365-based Microsoft system for email accounts. My institution now requires that email client programs us MS Graph for authentication. Does Thunderbird 156.0.1 have this capability?

Repeated attempts to log in using the window presented continue to fail. My password is correct and I am able to log in on the spectrum website without problems. I have two email accounts in TB ; one with Outlook.com and the other with Charter.net. The Outlook account logs in without problem but the charter account continues to give me the message that the login failed (image attached). When I go too the account server settings in TB for charter and do a test connection under security settings, a connection is made without a problem (image attached).

I believe the previous version (156.0) was working but there seems to be a rapid succession of changes coming down the pike lately. I have had intermittent problems of this nature in the past 4 or 5 months so it's difficult to keep track of which versions are successful.

Help please. I am not thrilled with spectrum but I do not want to change my email address.

There is apparently a bug in the latest release of Thunderbird, which has broken the callbacks for Yahoo! IMAP email using OAuth. Potentially, it may actually be a problem with Yahoo!, and how https://api.login.yahoo.com is attempting to reopen Thunderbird after logging in, as the process has changed. I've already reverted back to the ESR Thunderbird channel once, but on a recent update the issue was reintroduced. Screenshots are included.

I had to reinstall Thunderbird after doing a clean install of Windows 11.

Since installing, the expected login popup for Gmail doesn't appear. I get the attached error message instead.

Yahoo worked fine after a few tries. What is the problem here, and how can I fix it?

Hello. i have latest beta 156.b3 64bit, after updating to beta 3 my tb offer retry passwords to many google acccounts and opening FireFox for again login in to each account. I have turned off checking mails on the start up for them and turn off checking mails, but again and again opening firefox for signing in. i closing firefox but TB not continue checking mail from another mailboxes, they stopped and seems like waiting for signing. i try to manually click for each mailbox "get message", but this no work, could you help me turn off login through firefox?

I downloaded Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 laptop and began setup by entering my full name and email address ([redacted]@utexas.edu, operated by Gmail). The next screen asks for my "email account password." I entered my Google password that allows me to access my email at Gmail (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox). But "Authentication failed," and I am stuck! I cannot finish installing Thunderbird. I have used Thunderbird for many years on my prior laptop (Windows 10).

I have an outlook account that will not install. I get the challenge, to send me an authentication number at another email address, and that says okay, you can close this window and continue, but then at 'continue' in Thunderbird I get an authentication error.

-I have added the email on another computer in Thunderbird and send/receive email, no error -I have added the email in the New Outlook email app and send/receive email, no error -I have added a different outlook account in Thunderbird on this computer, no error -I can log into the Microsoft live email app and send/receive email, no error -I have uninstalled Thunderbird as admin, removed the Thunderbird folders in %appdata% and %localappdata% for both the admin and user accounts, cleared the cache and cookies on the computer and in Thunderbird (including the token), then reinstalled Thunderbird under the admin account, logged into Thunderbird as the user and added the problem Outlook account; same issue. Press Continue and authentication error, even though the challenge screen says everything is connected and okay. Then I install the other Outlook account without any issues.

I am convinced that somewhere on this machine there is something that knows and hates this one email account. It is possibly because the profile file had a problem and I deleted the xulstore.json file per instructions to resolve the problem, but the file is there and the profile is working again for the other Outlook accounts, just not this one particular account.

Any Obi-wan or other wise counsel out there?

For the past 3-4 days, I am unable to successfully add my Yahoo New Mail account to Thunderbird.

The app says it cannot authenticate my account, but Yahoo confirms Thunderbird's access.

I'm using Thunderbird Version 155.0.1 (64-bit). I reinstalled it after cleaning the installation of Windows 11 25H2 a few days ago.

Please help. I need to move all my Gmail messages to Yahoo, and Thunderbird is the only option I have.

all other apps etc EXCEPT focus. with everything I try to ope eg mail etc, the useless program takes me continuous loops to log in. I go through the verification system multiple times and then it doesnt accept fingerprints and locks me out. this program is unusable and useless so I'm going to remove it.
