Why do I need to set up Sync on Firefox when I only use this one computer and do not even have a cell phone?

You don't really need Sync for one computer and no other devices. Sync is inactive until the user sets it up.

If you do not want to use Firefox Sync any more, you can deactivate it. See instructions here: How do I choose what information to sync on Firefox?
