I restored my laptop to factory settings. When I downloaded Firefox download from the Mozilla website, after install upon opening Firefox browser I get the error message Could not initialize the applications security componet...I used the troubleshooter for this error and have followed instructions given to locate the profile, cert8.db file an make make sure it is not read only. Problem is the cert8.db file DOES NOT exsist !! Yes I do have enough space on my laptop I have 191 gbs in my C drive.

Did you go to: Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder ?

yes, I have followed all instructions to my knowledge 100%. I have even tried to create a new profile and that did not solve this error message issue. I did the troubleshooting profile open containing folder locate cert8.db which was not in the list at all. I tried the create new profile options incase my current profile was corupt in any way. I even tried the troubleshooting open containing file anywhere in the backgrounf opp. click properties uncheck read only option apply that did not solve the issue either. I am at a loss. I really liked forefox but this is more trouble than what the browser is worth!!

note: tried installing google chrome since Firefox keeps giving me this error message an now google chrome will not install because it says it has a missing file exe or something. I don't know whats goin on but no browsers will install for some reason.
