Virginmedia.com ceasing to carry on with emails for their subscribers

Looks like you have the option of letting them transfer your existing email to another provider, "Junara", and can use their service for free for one year, after which it will cost you. Junara can be used with Thunderbird.

Otherwise your virginmedia email account will be closed. You can open an account with another email provider if you like.

The relevancy to Thunderbird is that you can use Thunderbird to save all your email to your local computer so it will not be lost. And you will probably be able to use it with your new email provider, Junara or other.

If I might be allowed to say thank you to the people here that helped to resolve my query ref Virginmedia and the coming cessation of their email service. I had been using a Lenovo Tablet my niece bought for me. ( using it after a fashion ) when I came across the article ref Virginmedia.. And flicked on to the next article. Then realised that I was a subscriber to Virginmedia.. Tried to find it again, But at my advanced age am not too Au Fait with gadgets. So thank you, I have emails via Thunderbird going back to 2012, with Virginmedia. And would like to keep them.
