how do I turn off tab groups in Firefox Android?
Is there some way of disabling tab groups with the new update, without uninstalling the regular version of Firefox mobile for Android?

It can be disabled in Secret Settings. I'm not sure if it's accessible in the regular version, or Nightly only.
I have the opposite problem, how do I enable it?

About:config is disabled in the normal version of Firefox Android and there is no setting for this in the "secret" menu.

It automatically tries to make groups while moving tabs around.

Not for me, and apparently several others.

At the moment, **Firefox for Android does not provide a user-facing setting to disable Tab Groups**. Mozilla's support documentation explains how to create, manage, and delete tab groups, but it does not include an option to turn the feature off.
If the feature is getting in your way, your options are currently limited to:
- Avoid dragging one tab directly onto another, as that creates a group.
- Delete any groups you no longer need from the tab tray.
Unlike Firefox on desktop, there is **no `about:config` preference available in the standard Android release** to disable tab groups. The desktop workaround (`browser.tabs.groups.enabled`) does not apply to the regular Android app.
If you'd like Mozilla to add a toggle to disable tab groups, the best option is to submit feedback through the Firefox app or on Mozilla Connect, as this has been requested by other users.
