Why can't I use Ecosia as my search engine?
Previously I have used Ecosia with Firefox but it seems I can't do that now - why not?

The built–in defaults are provided differently between regions, so some locales have Ecosia built–in, some do not. Nonetheless you can always add a custom search engine in Settings, see Add or remove a search engine in Firefox and the correct URL for Ecosia is just:
https://www.ecosia.org/search?q=%s
I have found, with your help, how to add a search engine but it won't accept the URL you gave me. This can't be regional as I have lived here for many years and always had Ecosia as my search engine. I like it and it's ethos so am not happy about this. Isn't there anything else I can do to get it?
I am so sorry! I had an eye operation yesterday so probably shouldn't be using a PC today.I didn't read the labels on the option spaces and put the URL in the wrong slot. I now have Ecosia, thank you a thousand times. Bee
