I can't access my inbox after a crash during a power outage.

This is Ellen. I tried restarting Robert's ( my late husband) computer after it crashed and I got the message about Thunderbird's inbox folder not being able to be opened because it is in use by some other operation. It is an old Mac Mini running 10.13 and it says TB is 115.18.0. I don't update it because I don't think his OS can handle anything newer. I just looked and my Mini with an M1 chip (4 y/o?) is running 140. something.

How do I get it to quit whatever it is hung up on? His email is coming in ok on my iPhone.

Robert was a sculptor who made large kinetic works and a lot of his work is still on this computer.

Please help me get out of this mess. I think it has happened before.

Ellen

It appears you have posted twice about this. Please keep to just one post per problem to avoid duplicate assistance. My first suggestion is to see if you can access the account from the account's website. That eliminates any problems with Thunderbird. If this is a POP account (where all messages are stored on the PC), then whatever is there on the PC can probably be extracted. Are you familiar with accessing files using the Mac file manager? Let me know and I'll try to assist. thank you

It’s not a PC. It’s a Mac. I told you that in the posting. The fact that I can get the emails in email from the POP box does not mean it isn’t a TB problem. I want to speak with a human advisor.

I responded to your other post and will cease here to avoid duplication. Am I not human enough? We're volunteers here, and we do try to assist. Yes, I know that some personal computers are called Macs. My other response had a few questions. thank you.
