Firefox crashing
Hi Mozilla I hav got a problem with Firefox on Kubuntu 24.04.3. Everytime the computer is restarted Firefox crashes the first time it's started. That's not a big problem, starting Firefox again don't take long. But the problems is exceeding. If i start Firefox by clicking a link in a mail in Thunderbird. And Firefox has not yet been started, It crashes, but now it's also invaliding the Task bar on the screen where Firefox was started. Invaliding means that I cannot start apps from that screens taskbar, and the clock has stalled, none of the tools works etc. The only possibility solution I have been able to figure out, is restart (It's like going back to Win 98). Sometimes I am able to start a app from that invalid taskbar. But it's not the one app that i clicked on. Even though I can trigger it via Thunderbird, the invaliding of the taskbar will occur after a while. And I have to restart. I am not sure if this is the right place to post. But Firefox is always involved, but maybe Thunderbird or Ubuntu was the right place? Every time Firefox crashes there is send a crash report to Mozilla, but is has been going on for a while, so i guess that nobody is looking at the crash report. If I use Chromium instead of Firefox I don't see the problem.

What Desktop? X11 or Wayland?
Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla, run firefox-bin from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
If it's an option, try running your os via live usb stick.

Hi I have tried to run Firefox from the folder and it has the same behaviour. I will add to my previous post, that I have figured out howto trigger the problem. First time after restart, I open Linked-in and Firefox is crashing. Then I press restart on the send report dialog. And Firefox is not crashing anymore. Linked-in triggeres it. I must press restart Firefox otherwise I can't start my Thunderbird.
The problem is clearly related to Thunderbird and the Kubuntu Taskbar.
My desktop is running Wayland KDE (Kubuntu) I have 3 screens one labtop screen and two other screens

I can't get my computer running X11 it crashes. It is a case that Toxedo computers has to solve, I have no time schedule for that but it's a year ago they promised me a solution. It is not just the Linked-in page that crashes Firefox, other sites as well. But Linked-in does it consequent. You want a link "https://www.linkedin.com/feed/"

- Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
