Firefox is near unusable after iOS 26 update. The UI is gigantic and obscures the browser window.
Is there any way to make the keyboard smaller so I can actually, you know, use the browser? I can't really see what I'm doing. It's like I'm looking through a peephole.

In case it matters:

Hi there,
That's totally depend on your keyboard app. You may want to see if it's possible to do it with the keyboard app that you're using.
I hope that helps!
I'm not using a keyboard app. This is the default iOS keyboard.

You may want to look for a way to remove the up and down as well as the Done button. Additionally, you may want to disable auto suggestion from your keyboard to enable the extra space.
There is no way to make the buttons go away. They do not appear in Safari, only in Firefox.
Having done my research, that bar (↑ ↓ and Done) is the keyboard accessory that some iOS browsers and in-app browsers add for form field navigation. Safari itself often doesn’t show it (or shows a different style), so you won’t see it by using Safari.
Here's a relevant bug report I could find -> https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-ios/issues/24915
I also shared your screenshot in the bug report for our team's awareness. Looks like the buttons get bigger with the iOS 26 update.
I tried downloading a couple of alternative keyboards but they are still the same size and the huge bar is still there.
I bet. It's something that came with the iOS, but Safari has a different treatment, that's why you wouldn't see it from Safari. In any case, that issue should be on the team's radar already.
And thanks for reporting this. With more and more people are updating to iOS 26, I believe we'll hear from more people about the same.
I thought you might be interested to see how the browser appears now even when I’m not typing.
That's most probably a different kind of issue.
