Firefox ios slows down during use
Initial performance is good, but over time especially when tabs are opened and closed frequently responsiveness to user input (e.g. tab switching, opening/closing tabs, response to hyperlinks) becomes very slow. After force quitting and restarting, performance is good again for some time. I exclusively use private tabs.

I have installed v144, and unfortunately it is still not improved, with continued use, Firefox’s responsiveness becomes worse.
You’re not alone — Firefox on iOS can sometimes slow down after being open for a while. Here are a few things that usually help:
Clear cache and website data: Go to Settings → Firefox → Data Management → Clear Website Data. This can free up memory and speed things up.
Close background tabs: Having too many tabs open can cause lag, especially on older devices.
Update Firefox and iOS: Make sure both are on the latest versions — newer updates often fix performance bugs.
Restart the app or phone occasionally: iOS can slow down apps that have been running for a long time.

This is still an issue, 3 months later, with firefox 146.1 on iPadOS 26.2. Symptoms are as described in https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-ios/issues/30497
While this has improved with the latest updates (v148), i still observe a big difference in responsiveness when clicking links / closing or switching tabs after a few hours of use (browsing, opening/closing tabs) compared to the behavior after a fresh start. Thanks for looking into this
I’ve had the same problem on Firefox iOS after opening a lot of tabs. Restarting helps for a bit, but it gets slow again. Hope it gets fixed soon.
@Peter & Jordi
Thanks for sharing with us. I just posted a comment on https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-ios/issues/30497
Let's see if the team is planning any further fix on that one.
