I can't access my saved logins

d_awdry

Adobe installed Intel Security TrueKey without my permission. It appears to have stopped me accessing my passwaords via Options?Security. I uninstalled the app, but this made no difference. The file logins.json had disappeared from my profile. I went through the procedure for copying it from a previously backed up profile, but still the list of saved logins was empty. I then tried Refresh Firefox in the hope this would reset everything, but still no change. I am afraid that at some point in trying to solve this I must have forgotten to close Firefox before copying files. Is there any way I can retrieve my passwords?

Haven't contacted Adobe yet, but intend to. I'm sure previous downloads have always had a checkbox for extra software before downloading.

Anyway, I have used your link to create a new profile, and it seems to have restored every password I've ever used, not just on this computer even! Slightly stymied when asked for my Firefox account password, but got it from my laptop. Thanks very much for your help.

It’s very sad, but many of the software downloaders / installers will trick you into installing not only their program, but other programs as well. You have heard of the fine print in shady contracts, right? Well, some installers you need to look at the itsy bitsy teeny weeny fine print. You are thinking you are giving the installer permission to install the program you want by using the recommended option. But if you use the Manual Option Instead, you discover all kinds of stuff that you do not even know what it is or what it does. From now on, everyone needs to Use The Manual Option to put a stop to this.

Have you contacted Adobe about this?

Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar.

If there is no problem, we will move some of the old profile to the new.

Intel Security True Key is a program developed by Intel Security.

This is likely one of the programs added to the Adobe installers.

It looks like TrueKey has taken over your Password Manager. See if you can remove or control it.
