TB continuously downloading same old emails

Had problem with content of sent and inbox being mixed up so repaired inbox as recommended but not inbox folder cannot stop trying to download entire inbox from server, again and again. It gets to 1000 of 2080 for example and then starts all over again. It will not stop, however it doesn't manage to download all the emails. Advice please.

Sorry, first sentence didn't make sense. Should read "so repaired inbox as recommended but inbox folder cannot stop trying to download all emails from server"
