mail box is only saving 15 messages and deleting all others how do i reset

For some reason my mail boxes on my laptop are only saving 15 or so messages. It seems that everything over that number is being deleted. How do I set up my box so it doesn't remove anything from the mail box without me doing it?

How have you got the Server Settings in Account Settings configured? Have you got "Leave messages on server" checked? In Preferences > Advanced > Network & Disc Space, have you got a decent size for the cache set up? Mine is 29 MB. I had to change a setting in about:config to keep messages from being taken off the server when they were moved (for instance, to Junk). mail.pop3.deleteFromServerOnMove -> false In case it is none of those things: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Disappearing_mail
