My computer automatically restarted, and when I reopened Firefox it was updated and my account was logged out. Once I logged in, everything was gone -- bookmarks, history, extensions. The only thing not gone were my saved passwords (so I know I logged back into my same account). I swear I backed everything up after the last snafu, but now I can't find anything. How do I fix this? I had 4+ years of bookmarks saved, plus my article saver extension.

I'm trying to stream a show in the firefox browser and I am getting error saying the HLS is not up to date. I've checked my firefox is at the latest update, is this something you need to update on your end?

Is there anyway in the setting to stop a shortcut from being added every time I visit a site? I only want sortcuts that I use. I have attached a screenshot circling the ones that keep popping up as an example.

I have Firefox for Mac iOS, and want to turn on notifications for Microsoft Teams, but I do not want them to ever make sound. Like ever ever. I cannot figure out how to turn on banner notifications while keeping them quiet (they always appear in the top right, as requested, but make a dinging sound.) The notifications panel in my System Settings is grayed out, and isn't allowing me to make changes to it for some reason. How can I can allow notifications in Firefox while suppressing any and all sounds those notifications they make?

My password manager up until very recently let me sign into Rogers, the largest internet & webmail provider in Canada. Now the page does not fully come up, allowing one to sign in. Refreshing, rebooting & clearing cache helps not at all. It does work fine in edge however. It's an issue on your end.

Using 148 on Debian trixie I do not see the option for "refresh browser"?

Facing these issues on video/educational platforms other than YouTube. I am not facing either of these issues on other browsers like Microsoft Edge, on the same network. Please let me peacefully watch my educational videos, else I'll have to switch to other browsers and encourage others to do the same. I have a lot of respect for your open-source community-based browser, but such errors are causing intolerable pain. PLEASE RESOLVE ASAP.

Just recently when logged onto Hotcopper.com.au have been getting a message that reads "This page is slowing Firefox down. To speed up this browser, stop this page." There is a STOP button, that helps for a moment or two only. When I open the program with MS Edge, the problem does nor occur. I was going to remove the Firefox App but saw the repair option. Repairing did not stop the problem. Any suggestions? John I have a near new Acer laptop running Win 11.

just installed thunderbird on my new windows11 laptop and tried to add my comcast email account. i entered the email address and password and it sent me to a comcast web page to validate my email on imap.comcast.com. i am not on my home network so they sent a code to my phone which i entered successfully. it then asked for the address on my (comcast) account. i entered it and it told me it didn't recognize the address. I called comcast and finally got a human to talk with. we verified that my comcast account was set to allow third party access to my email. that's all the help she could give. i've run thunderbird on my windows 10 desktop with my comcast email for years with no problem. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Using firefox 148, when I select the "CIRA Canadian shield" DNS over HTTPS option it does not work. If I select the other 2 options Cloudflare or NextDNS those options work.

What is the problem with DOH for CIRA option ?

I would like to make a new account with an email account I control. Currently, the secondary email address can receive 2FA codes and such, but is there some way to transfer all of the history I have with the account to a new one? I cannot make the secondary email address the new one because my university email is now unable to receive emails such as 2FA codes.

The Firefox advertising page

I clicked on the Wellnee link and their site is rigged to extort money! I chose the product (advertised as a discount), entered my bank details then instead of buying the product, I'm sent to a page where aside from just leaving the page, I find that i have to order 3 more of the same product, if I want to get the discount, so I exited the page, only to find that not only had I been charged for the original (without the discount!) but an additional charge had been taken!!!

Then I get a text message saying they couldn't connect to my email, so everything is done through texts (they had my email). When I went to their site they use a fake US phone number; there's no email, only a form (does it work?)

I have 18 shortcuts that I have added to the Firefox desktop, but every time I open a new link, a shortcut is added to the desktop. How do I keep these unwanted shortcuts from being added to my Firefox desktop?

I have left Shortcuts toggled on, since I want to see the 18 shortcuts that I have manually pinned. Fine so far.

I have unchecked Sponsored Shortcuts, but I still am seeing sponsored shortcuts. What am I doing wrong?

Firefox Picture-in-Picture (PiP) Issue

• Problem: PiP window loses "Always on Top" focus or vanishes when switching workspaces/tasks.
• Config Changes: Set 'focusmanager.testmode' to true and 'media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-flips-visibility-on-focus-change' to false.
• Window Settings: Focus set to "Click" via GNOME Tweaks/Settings.
• Environment Test: Tested launching via 'MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0' to bypass Wayland focus logic.

• Tweaks: Installed for font hinting (Slight) and window behavior management.

After the last update, I lost the toolbar bookmarks and passwords. After some time I was able to figure out how to sync them from my mobile. When I closed FF on my desktop, I lost the sync. Now I get an error when I try to sync. Your last update (using flawed AI, I presume) sucks and has rendered the browser I have used for years. I used your "help" page to recover once, but as soon as I closed the browser, it reverted to no bookmarks, no passwords. I don't want to use MS browsers because FF has served very well for years. Sorry but WTF are you thinking?
