Using firefox for months, started it this morning no history-bookmarks, win 7 profile corrupted. Created new profile how to import firefox data, since corrupt?
I been using firefox for months. I started my laptop this morning and the entire desktop looked like it was back to factory default, ie: the clutter I had on my desktop was gone, fewer items in the system tray & task bar.
I started firefox from the start menu, and all my bookmarks and history are gone. I didn't have too much time to problem solve, so all I used Firefox for was, to read my emails, then had to go. NOW I have more time to investigate this further, I created a new Windows 7 profile and what I want to do is recover all my bookmarks and history from my older profile, to this new profile.
I can not simply go to my old profile and export the Firefox data because the only history/bookmark now there is the website that I have read email in the morning, see above. So is there a another place on the HDD that I can look to find this data so I may import some if not all the bookmarks/history it to the new profile?
FYI, my HHDs are fine.

All your Firefox data is stored in your profile folder. You don't need to export anything; you can just copy files between profile folders while Firefox is closed.
It is best to avoid using places.sqlite in this case as the file might be corrupted and use a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder to recover the bookmarks.
If you still have the old profile then try to delete the places.sqlite file to see if that helps.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
