It is ANNOYING as hell-- new tab steals focus, can't find any setting to stop this-- no, I do NOT want the damned thing going to new tab-- I'll go there myself when I'm good and ready-- frustrated enough to think about going back to Opera instead.

Hello,

Go to about:config, search for browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground change its value to false.
