Tried installing/running - says "Profile missing..." I have Windows Vista.

Just installed Mozilla Firefox to be my browser. When I go to "Programs" and click on it, I get error message stating: "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." That's as far as I get with it.

Check that you still have the default profile as listed in the file profiles.ini as Default=1.

If profiles.ini is is present, but the profile that is marked in profiles.ini as Default=1 is missing then delete profiles.ini to make Firefox create a new default profile.
