1. Ok, first click tools at the top of Firefox. (Click alt if you dont see it on a Windows) 2. Then click options. 3. After that click security 4. Under Passwords click 'Saved Passwords'. A small window will appear. 5. The click the one you want to remove and click the button that says remove at the bottom left corner. Or click remove all on the bottom left corner.

Thank you - it does not show up as a saved password, entered it anyway to remove and it did not work. any other ideas welcome

That is odd. It as always worked for me. Have you tried deleting all cookies and form data?

You can use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Thank you - I had to sign in thru Microsoft in order to fix it. It did not show up as a saved password and so finally when I signed in thru Microsoft it got fixed. Removing cookies did not help - probably a quirk in this computer but it is now fixed !!

In rare cases it might be possible that a plugin like Flash is used for the login form and that this data is stored in a Flash LSO.

Thank you - I finally figured it out - I had to sign in thru Microsoft not Firefox to fix it and now I know how and it is fixed.
