How to change search engine from Google.com to Google.it

more options

Hello there,

I'm going crazy, I'm Italian and the O.S are in English as Firefox and it's fine, I'm a developer.

But the Google search engine is set to Google.com. I can't change it to Google.it. There are no add-ons, nothing in abut:config.

How can I achieve this?

Thanks

You can search the MyCroft website.

Unfortunately there is no plugin for my country as the website explains here https://mycroftproject.com/install.html?id=23605&basename=googleit-web&icontype=ico&name=Google+Italia

I see a few Google.it search engines.

Hey bud,

thanks a lot but as I said there isn't the add-on they described.

I'm going to give you 10€ by PayPal as a friend if you find it following their instructions, ok? Good luck!

I tried to add what I see in your screenshot. I changed from US to IT and it doesn't work.

This is the correct way! Unfortunately you can't win 10€ since the steps to add the search engine are outdated.

Now it works fine, I can search with Google in my country

You can change your browser language to Italian, but I suspect it still comes with the global Google search configuration.

I submitted a dedicated google.it search extension for review. For now, that page is unavailable, but I shared the code over here:

https://github.com/jscher2000/google-it-search-firefox

It takes me far longer to make an icon than to create and test the code for a new Google site. <sigh>

**Edit** So long that by the time I'm done, you already solved it.
