When opening links from history in a new tab or new window, or with the middle mouse button, the browser immediately switches to it, which should happen only with left mouse clicks. Another problem is the fact if you're deep down the list, regardless of how you open a link, you go back to the beginning of the list because the view is reset. Try looking for something deep down, miss click or guess wrong, and see how infuriating that is. There should also be an option to make it so mouse left clicks on history links open a link immediately **on another tab/window**. Currently, it reuses the current tab/window.

1.

Launch Mozilla Firefox and navigate to the Web page that contains the links you want to open in new tabs. 2.

Hold down "Ctrl" and click a link to open it in a new tab. 3.

Make Firefox automatically switch to newly opened tabs by opening the "Options" window, clicking "Tabs," and then enabling the "When I open a link in a new tab,

switch to it immediately" option.

Hey there. I think you misunderstood what I said, if you actually read it. I want the opposite of that behavior. The fact that "When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" is disabled is precisely why the current behavior is a bug. In order words, to make it easier to understand, the "When you open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" option works fine, except if you are opening the links from the History sidebar, in which case disabling it has no effect for this particular scenario.

Try Shift+Middle Click.

Try a different sorting method in the History Sidebar.
