How do I unthread a specific message thread?

idahouser beantwoord

When I use the Message/Edit as new Message option the new message remains threaded to the original. How can I break this connection? I occasionally use the Edit as new Message to create an entirely new message as an easy way to repeat the content or a specific email address. In this case the messages are not logically connected in any manner. So, how do I break the thread?

I think one way to break the thread would be to Edit As New Message as before, then modify the References header of the sent message. This can be done with HeaderTools Lite.

I can't seem to replicate the issue now so will mark this solved. I downloaded and installed the Header Tools Lite add-on. Looks like it will be good to have on hand. Thanks.
