The selected calender->properties->email selection is being ignored and the labelled event organizer for an event is being passed back from caldav. I use two emails with thunderbird and I want to be able to select which of the two I use as the event organizer. But when using caldav, the caldav email name supersedes the properties email selection. Works ok, if I send an event from "Home". Can this be fixed or is there a way to suppress the email address being returned from caldav?

what is the calendar provider you are using? Microsoft and Google have a habit of changing things to the primary account used to connect to their servers when you use caldav.

Sorry, had a misspelling in my password and got locked out. In the mayhem, I accidentally hit the chosen solution button.

Anyway, I'm using private email from namecheap. I did some more investigation. I went into properties and changed the user name to a invalid name and prevented the multiple attempts to go to dav.privateemail.com and still got the same result. More details (not actual names):

Calendar properties: Username: first.last@xyz.org Location: dav.privatemail.com email (list): First Last <first.last@comcast.net>

                    First Last <first.last@xyz.org>

where "First Last <first.last@comcast.net>" is selected. When creating new event and press invite attendees, I get first.last@xyz.org as the organizer without the First Last <>.

When I changed Username to first.last@xxxxyz.com, I get the exact same results combined with the message:

https://dav.privateemail.com is requesting your username and password. The site says :OX WebDAV"

where the "User name" is first.last@xxxxyz.com. As the organizer is still first.last@xyz.org, it appears the organizer is not from the calendar's property's email list or the username.

But if I create a Home event, I get the property's selected email with the first and last name, ie. First Last <first.last@comcast.net> or First Last <first.last@xyz.org>.

Searching the config for xyz.org, I only find calendar.registry... which is currently set to first.last@xxxxyz.com and the rest are mail... Testing, I changed all mail non-imap entries, where I added an identifying digit after the "@" and restarted. It couldn't connect to the private email server because of the bad user name and caused the calendar to be grayed out. Restarted and after the connection failure, I gave it the valid user name and password (user name in properties remained invalid). Still organizer on new event is the same as before, yet there is nothing in the config that is matching the organizer name. So maybe the calendar stores the name on the first connect to the caldav server? It is certainly not sitting in the config.

Maybe I need a developer to chime in and/or add the email functionality of the properties for caldav servers.
