Cannot index emails in one folder only

more options

Hi, I've lost the indexing in one of my folders and have tried the tips of deleting the folder and re-starting Firefox but nothing seems to work. I can see the emails in user/appdata/roaming/thunderbird/profiles/qkudlafn.default/mail/pop.clara.net/inbox.sbd nut when i search my whole machine for global-messages-db.sqlite it doesn't exist even after re-starting Firefox. I've updated FF in case that forced a re-index but no joy. I'm stuck (and can't deal with more work enquiries until I resolve this - please help! PS I have a qkudlafn.default(1) folder as well but not sure why.

I'm really not sure. If the file is missing, then I would think that's your problem. I have the file in my profile. Your best bet would be to go around the corner to the Thunderbird Forum. Those folks are much, much better at TBird than I am. See if this link will get you there quick: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird

Hi AndyT-R, Firefox and Thunderbird are separate programs, distinct from one another.

The file that you are looking for, global-messages-db.sqlite, is in a hidden folder.

Press Win key+R and type or paste %AppData%\Thunderbird\Profiles You'll need to set file explorer to Show Hidden Files & Folders. You will then see your profile folder(s).

Sorry, stupid me - I meant Thunderbird! Firefox is working fine. Thanks for the reply. Hidden files folders etc. is enabled but in the profile I don't see the file and a windows search using name:global-messages-db.sqlite says 'file not found' (same even if I do it from 'computer' and search the whole machine). Is there a way of forcing a re-index other than re-starting Thunderbird and hoping that it does it automatically?
