Please help, I can copy but now today I can't paste and I haven't been able to drag and drop since the 57 update. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the problem remains, I was content with the older version but if I revert back to it, it won't allow the GB language pack to be used.

I'm running Windows 10 on a Microsoft Surface Pro4

Have you tried using the context menu, or the keyboard shortcuts? If the problem persists, we can try a refresh.

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Hi MkII,

Thank you for your reply.

The first thing I tried today was the copy and paste and I was able to paste again, but in all l honesty I really dislike the new copy function Firefox did on their recent updates I really struggle with it. When I found your email I tried your suggestion for the refresh but unfortunately it didn't work I still can't drag and drop. But I don't use a normal keyboard I use the Microsoft onboard swype style keyboard and it doesn't have copy and paste function with it, I don't know if Firefox have allowed for a touch screen computer with their settings.

I really love using Firefox and this is the first time I've ever had a problem with it, I would revert back to an older version but it doesn't allow the GB language pack to be used it just tells me that it's not compatible with earlier versions.

If you want to revert to an older Firefox version then you need to reinstall the language pack(s) for that specific version.

If you use the 64-bit Firefox version then try the 32-bit Firefox version to see if that works better.
