Firefox 49 will not Log in to Websites
Firefox 49 will not log in to numerous websites I use requiring a user name and password. I have gone through EVERYTHING in various Mozilla web help sections - cookies, firewalls, history etc etc. I can log in to all these sites with Internet Explorer. I am using a PC with Windows 7 64 bit. I find IE terrible - I do not want to make that my default browser.

RATS!! It was my RoboForm Toolbar that has all my login information and passwords. Well you solved my problem and I thank you very much for your time

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?
Are you using any password add-ons?
I started Firefox in safe mode as you described and i tested a couple of sites and i was able to log in. I don't know what password add-ons are. Maybe you mean a log in software. I use Roboform - and have done for about 10 years with no problem.
It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.
Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.
