Update to Thunderbird 45.0 makes deleted messages display with a strike thru. How to stop this?
In Account Settings/Server Settings, I have always chosen the option of "Just mark it as deleted" when I delete a message. Prior to updating to 45.0, deleted messages stayed in the inbox and simply displayed a circle-with-a-slash icon to the left of the message subject line. Now, suddenly, while they still stay in the Inbox, the entire subject line of deleted messages have a strike through. I can't find a preference or account setting to get rid of the strikethrough. It's very distracting -- how can I make it stop doing this, while still retaining the ability to "Just mark it as deleted"?

selecting 'mark it as deleted' will leave the email in situ and put a strike through line. This is the expected behaviour and it has always done this for years. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Deleting_messages_in_IMAP_accounts
re :circle-with-a-slash icon to the left of the message subject line. This has nothing to do with marking as deleted. This sounds like the icon used to ignore threads.
Thanks for your response. My experience doesn't match your description, however. I've been using Thunderbird for several years (on a Mac), and deleted emails have never had a strike-thru line until I updated to version 45.0 yesterday.
For MAC OS. Did some researching and located this bug report which sounds like offering an explaination regarding the 'marked as deleted' icon being replaced by strikethrough. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477046
