Thunderbird doesn't connect to smtp.gmail.com - timeout
Hi, my TB client (LinuxMint17) does not send mails to gmails smtp server. Both ports have been tested. Internet connections work fine. Recieving mails isnt a problem using imap. Speedtest show no lack of bandwith.

Use port 465.
Thanks for replying, but as stated, both ports have been tested. Switched back to 465 now. This doesn't solve my problem completely.
TB occasionally sends, but either with huge delay, or does not, stating ,tiemout'
With port 465 for SMTP your server settings look good. Could your Internet connection be the problem?
No, Internet connection is fine. Both Wlan and Lan tested.
TB does send, But it takes at least a minute to send simple text messages or states the timeout error.
Hi, Just now, TB did send a mail almost instantly. Like it should be. I think this is the first time ever. Didnt change anything recently and my internet connection ist still the same. Pretty random. I dont get it.
