Firefox crashes
New version installed itself a week ago, not only do I have to restart it 3 times every time I start Firefox but it has several times screwed up the Yahoo toolbar which will not work anymore even though I re-installed it. This version of Firefox has been the buggiest update since I began using Firefox more than 10 years ago.

Sorry to hear about the crashing. Let me address a few things separately:
(1) Diagnosing the reason for the crashes
When Firefox crashes, it usually records information about what was happening at that moment. For example, you may have seen the Mozilla Crash Reporter come up. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please see the last section of the support article "Firefox Crashes" for steps to get those crash report IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.
Note: If Firefox not stable enough for long enough to gather that information, please try Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If Firefox is NOT running: Hold down the Shift key while launching Firefox.
If Firefox is already running: Use either of these and when prompted, okay the restart:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Both Scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
(2) Yahoo! Toolbar
Many Yahoo! toolbar users have reported problems in Firefox 36. Yahoo has released two updates since then (3.2.10 and 3.2.11), and I suggest updating your Yahoo! toolbar directly from Yahoo on this page:
That actually installs from the following address (some users are reporting that the redirect is blocked, so this is clickable if needed):
https://sxp.yimg.com/ei/toolbar/ie/yahootoolbar-3.2.11.20150226051211_intl-_sc-_pc-_dc-.xpi
If you load the new toolbar, exit Firefox and start it up again, does it work better than your old one?

In reviewing your More System Details (next to your post), I noticed that you have a user.js file in your currently active Firefox settings (Firefox profile) folder. Unless you created that file yourself and are familiar with its contents, it may contain overrides set by other software that change how Firefox starts up. This article describes how to track down and remove that file: How to fix preferences that won't save.
