in the new firefox (34) i started having a problem entering anything in the search bar or address bar. Any key stroke i make is changed to a random character
Keystrokes do not reflect what I am trying to type in Firefox 34. This just started today. I had to use IE Explorer which I hate to send this to you. I reset firefox twice but no help. Uninstalled it and reinstalled an older version and all was well. Reinstalled the latest version and I am back to the keystroke problem again. HELP !!!!!

You may have turned on caret browsing <F7> by accident. Caret Out {web link} Disables change of the caret browse mode by shortcut key(F7).
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
I originally posted this as solved but it is not. I deleted the prior versions and reinstalled the newest software. It worked briefly and I concluded the problem was resolved. Not so. I then tried this fix to see if that was the issue but it was not. Back to square one. This only happens with firefox and not other browsers So far it is confined to my laptop. I have not upgraded to the new version on my desktop unit. Any other ideas? Thanks
