Since changing my gmail accounts settings in thunderbird under Synchronization and storage so as not to store a local copy of emails. Thunderbird, after a while, is no longer able to authenticate to imap.gmail.com. If i delete the associated oauth2 saved passwords, restart and regrant access. Thunderbird is ok for a couple of hours but then fails again later. Thunderbird ran fine for a couple of days before i changed the synchronization settings.

Any ideas on how to eliminate this annoyance?

How do I get to - "Usernames and passwords are not saved" ? ? - it does Not say - Passwords in settings - so how do I get there ? I need to SAVE my gmail log in password so I don't have to keep typing it in to OPEN gmail and to subscribe to videos  ! BandOfLife@gmail.com July 19 2026

Recently it's a daily occurrence that I must enter the password for my SMTP server. I always check "Use Password Manager to remember this password" but it doesn't help. The next day I'll have to go through this again.

I power on my machine multiple times each day, and I use Thunderbird each time. It doesn't happen each time. It seems to happen only the first time I use Thunderbird each day. This is new behavior. Before it would happen now and then, now it's daily.

I don't have a Primary Password. No need for it.

If you need to see the message I can send it to you, but I'm not attaching it right now because it shows my email address and the smtp destination. Maybe I'm being too careful.

I have 3 email accounts which i unified. when log in I get prompted to enter password for all three accounts which I do, then I get prompted again to enter the password to all Password Manager to save my passwords which I do not want and therefore I uncheck it for all three; I then get prompted again for all three which I enter password, then I get imap login error on my main account which I click cancel a few times before it goes away,

I use Thunderbird portable. How do I fix this issue. it should be that one enters the password for each account once not three to four times. I do not want to use Password Manager to Save my accounts.

Also if ever I have to change password how do I do that? thank for your help.

Probably related to a Microsoft update, Thunderbird started asking for the password of my internet provider almost daily several weeks ago when sending or receiving messages. I am on Windows 11 and that is up to date.

My frequently accessed websites don't all remember my login information as though it's my first time connecting with my computer. Where is the setting to reset this feature so I don't have to enter my information every time I want to access my accounts?

...even though the settings are exactly the same as the other laptops everyone in the group. Why are these bugs not disclosed ? One set of problems exchanged for another -- reminds me of Microsoft 'upgrades'. Whatever happened to the post about Addon icons spontaneously disappearing ? Another release bug ? And then there was the "Bookmarks vertical spacing not optimized", which promulgated a response soliciting me to, "...describe the problem...". Quite a unique experience. For us.

I changed my yahoo password and can longer access this account in Thunderbird.

Now when I sign in to Thunderbird I get 'Edge To Many requests'

Unfortunately I deleted the yahoo user name and password in Thunderbird Password/ Saved Logins thinking Yahoo might automatically ask for my new password when re-starting Thunderbird

For some reason the program has stopped saving my passwords, all of my bookmarks are still listed but they are disabled. No autofill. When I manually put in a username and password the program drop down asks me if I want to save it, I reply yes, but it doesn't happen.

I have used Thunderbird for years. Suddenly it asks for my email account password every time I send an email message. What is the problem? The passwords for my email accounts have always been stored in my configuration and it never asked for them. Very annoying.

I am unable to access my mails on Greenby with Thunderbird and I suspect the password is incorrect. I can read my mails on the Greenby server and know the necessary password but cannot work out how to enter this into Thunderbird! As I am no expert, a simple guide would be most appreciated! After reinstalling a Windstream.net email account I continue to have Authentication Required errors at startup. Popup messages only occurs during thunderbird startup. And Only on my Windstream.net email accounts. not my outlook.com and Gmail accounts.

the following is the popup window during Thunderbird startup.

"Authentication Required - Mozila Thunderbird https://imap.windstream.net is requesting your username and password."

I entered the username and password and check the save box. The popup returns with the same error asking for the same info. If I just select CANCEL, it pops up 2 more times and after the third cancel, the popup shows no more. The account fills with any incoming emails from Windstream.net. The Windstream.net account seams to work normal from that point on. I Can send and receive fine with no more popups. Until I restart thunderbird then this error starts all over. Is this a thunderbird or Windstream.net issue? Any suggestions on a fix? Also I have a gmail and outlook.com account with no issues.

When I use “generate a strong password”, it isn’t automatically saved and no prompt asking if I want to save the password appears, effectively making me lose the password unless I save it elsewhere and add it manually. I have noticed this on my iPad pro, but I am unsure if it also happens with my other devices. This happens in non private tabs, I do not know if it does in private tabs.

De plus, suite à un changement d'ordinateur mes mots de passe sont visibles aves des chiffres et des lettres credential redacted (see https://github.com/thunderbird/aaq-scraper/issues/15 ) Je ne peux pas voir mes mots de passe enregistrés Je ne peux donc pas me connecter à mes boites mails car les mots de passe ne sont pas valides A savoir que je suis sur certaines boites mail sur @outlook.com (anciennement dbmail)

Pourriez-vous m'aider à débloquer le problème car je suis très embêtée Par avance merci et bonne soirée PS : Si je supprime l'application et que je l'installe de nouveau, vais-je perdre tout l'historique (dossiers, agendas, contacts, etc ...)
