Every link i click turns into a new tab
It’s not every link… sometimes it feels like it just turns on suddenly which will get me by surprise because it’ll open past the tab i have open so you cant see it. Until i go up to my tabs and scroll over. The number of tabs i have open just says infinity. I am using iOS ipad version. i just looked in setting and couldn’t find anything that was open a new tab every link. I know this must be some setting somewhere but when you have over 600 tabs open and I attempt to close some of them its driving me insane…

Aren't you using an external keyboard by any chance?
I am using an external keyboard but it also happens on my phone. -> so it’s a known bug?!?
So that might be several or unrelated things.
First, infinity of empty/home tabs is a setting: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1409234 (you may want to ensure it's "last tab" not "home after 4hrs" or similar if that's what's adding extra tabs for you)
Search results opening new tabs: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1582477 (so if your StartPage or DuckDuckGo open everything in new tabs, check their options on their site to avoid that)
For iPadOS specifically, and only if you're using physical keyboard, and can confirm that tapping the CMD keys a few times prevent the tabs from being spawned, yes, that's a bug https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-ios/issues/32463 that currently needs help in reproduction.
