signing in to thunderbird
when i open thunderbird i get a box asking for a password for microsoft i remember this before and had to put in an app password but cannot remember how i found it

Perhaps from Microsoft, but now they require oauth authentication and that os not an app password. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202
