get rid of junk mails

Hi, I get hundreds of junk mails every day, and they are put in the junk mail file. But when I erase them from that file a good portion is not vanishing but going into the trash file, and there spread all over the data. How can I avoid that, i.e. how can the junk mails destroyed from the file for good? Thanks for info!

right+Click spam folder and pick "empty"

That´s exactly what I do, but a lot appears in thetrash file instead of vanishing.
