There are two of my folders and the sub folder under them that I can open and view what's inside, but it won't let me delete them or add anything to them. I have no clue what happened, except that there was an update to Thunderbird last evening. I'm attaching screenshot of the pop up window I get. I would appreciate if someone can help me with this.

based on that information I see a message from your mail server saying it does not have folders of that name in the mailbox.

Can you see them in web mail? When you right click and select subscribe, are those folders listed as available to subscribe to?

It is possible that the server software changed and no longer supports inbox/folder names and expects Account/inbox Account/foldernames

When dealing with synchronized services, when things go wrong there is plenty of potential for confusion.

In the first instance I suggest stopping any email scanning or VPN you may have.

I am not sure what happened, but those folders I was having trouble with are gone now, along with everything that was in them. I did not want to lose the information but it is what it is.

I wish I would have thought to check web mail, but I didn't Next time something like this happens I will hopefully remember that tip.

I wish I were smarter about these things, but I don't know what you mean when you suggest to stop any email scanning or VPN I might have. Could you explain.

As to your question about the server stopping some services, no I don't think so because I have many, many folders and all the rest are working. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. TBird did have that recent update so possibly that's the answer.

Most folks have an anti virus product, be it Norton or McAfee or any of dozens of other products. Almost all of them scan email and almost all of them do a bad job of it breaking email reception at some point.

AS for a VPN. I suggest you google the term. If you have no idea what it is you most likely do not have one. But really I am unable to provide instruction on use of your computer or use of the internet.
