Alcatel one touch fire won't update.
It's June 9 2014 and my alcatel one touch fire is still running firefox OS v1.1. Every time I check for updates, the phone says that I'm using the latest version, something that is obviously not true. I can't figure out why it won't update. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Ralph Daub,
Thank you for the information you provided. They certainly helped me understand the situation better.
I realize that Firefox OS is a beggining mobile OS compared to it's competitors and it will run into some hiccups.
But anyway, I will be patient until v1.3 gets properly evaluated and rolled to my device. Thanks for your support.

Hi,
Thanks for using Firefox OS, you are running the latest version available for your device (1.2 was not rolled out by partners) and v1.3 has yet to be rolled out to existing v1.1 devices. Thanks for your patience while operators/OEMs prepare updates and release them for your device.

Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it, but wouldn't it be nice if you guys annouced an exact date of when the updates are going to be rolled out?
Also wouldn't it be be better if the updates were distributed directly from mozilla?
Hi randomffuser,
I understand your frustration and concern, and also wish that the latest updates could be made readily available to every Firefox OS device and user in the world.
The reality, however, is that the updates must be tested and certified by multiple partners (chipset makers, OEMs, carriers), as to ensure that a particular update will work correctly on each device.
Mozilla releases the base builds of Firefox OS to our partners (OEMs and carriers), and they are responsible for performing the tests and modifications necessary prior to releasing the updates to the end users.
With that in mind, unfortunately, Mozilla is not able to speculate on the specific date that each partner will roll out the updates for each device.
I hope that you find this information helpful. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
- Ralph
