How do I reset the new tab page so it sorts by most visited again (including pages that I removed previously via the X button)?
My school uses a redirect utility to sign into the wireless, and for whatever reason when I was redirected on a site that was on my new tab page it would replace that site's thumbnail with that page and when I click on it it would take me to the redirect page rather than the one I wanted. So I started clicking X on those pages to let new ones crop up. However, I didn't realize that that meant they would never show up again on that. I was hoping there was a way to reset just the new tab page back to as if I hadn't done anything to it, showing my most visited pages again without having to pin pages manually. I'd also rather not need to do something drastic like remove all of my settings if possible. Thanks.

I think that the deletion of these pages may be directly related to the history. Try to clear the history, maybe this way you will see them again, if not, you may need to create a new profile and import data from your previous one.
How-tos: Remove recent browsing, search and download history
Use the Profile Manager to create and remove Firefox profiles
Recovering important data from an old profile
Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
